“Once again WOR Events have listened to their valued riders opinions and are very pleased to be making a very important announcement regarding the format of the remaining events in the 2008 race schedule.
At the beginning of the year WOR launched a whole range of new championships including the Acerbis Sprint Scrambles and the Michelin Fast Cross, these two new formats were to run alongside the current Motul GBHS and the GG XC series………
However it has come to the attention of the organisers that their valued riders prefer the “old school” formats of Longer is better!
The 1 hour and short sprint races are not what true XC and Enduro riders want, couple that with the fact that the new formats were to try and get more MX riders interested and riding in events, This has not materialised as the MX riders are already in a very busy and full race calendar themselves and simply cant fit “new” races into their weekends.
So……….with immediate effect from the MOTUL GBHS at Maeshafn on the 8 th June, the format at ALL WOR EVENTS (no matter what sponsors name is involved) will be simple and the same each time….
Starting at 09.30 will be a 2 hour race in the morning for all the intermediate classes, Sportsman/Youth/Novice/over 40's
Starting at 12.30 pm will be a 3 hour race for all the main classes, ELITE/EXPERT/CLUBMAN/OVER 35/OVER 45/ and a new PM SPORTSMAN CLASS………………
Once this information is set in the riders minds it will remove any confusion as to what format of race is coming up and not leave any doubt as to the duration of the events.
The Sponsors will not change on the championships although the name will…..I.e.…MICHELIN FAST CROSS now becomes WOR/MICHELIN XC SERIES 08…..The ACERBIS SPRINT SCRAMBLES now becomes WOR/ACERBIS XC SERIES 08…..ETC ETC….
Due to circumstances unforeseen the GG XC series is now to be renamed The TBM XC series….nothing changes with points or standings.
WOR welcome long standing sponsor TBM (TRAIL BIKE MAG) On board as a series sponsor.
The evening and junior races are unaffected by any of these mid season reshuffles.
So back to basics and giving the rider's quality bike time…..that's what it is about…IP mate from all at WOR! x

Nantmawr Quarry in Shropshire was the venue for one of dirt bike racing's truly great events. Huge climbs, terrifying downhill sections, slippery logs, treacherous rocks, and more of the toughest terrain around put the skills and bravery of the best riders in the world to the ultimate test.
Enduro King David Knight was back, aiming for a fourth Tough One Extreme Sprint Scramble title in a row. But the Manxman would be challenged by teammate Taddy Blazusiak in a KTM grudge match, as well as taking on a strong field of hard-charging riders, including two-times Dakar Rally winner Cyril Despres, British Enduro Champions Tom Sagar and Wayne Braybrook and many more.
This review is packed with action from the two-hour main event, including the heroics of trials star Michael Brown and the drama of Knighter versus Blazusiak . On-board cameras take you even closer to this extreme challenge, including some shocking falls.
There's also comprehensive coverage of the UK Speed Trial as reigning champion Steve Colley tries to defend his title against Brown, Graham Jarvis, Juan Knight and other leading riders. Awesome footage, including plenty courtesy of Colley's helmet-mounted camera, puts you at the heart of a determined battle for victory.
