Steve Ireland ...you will all know him as WOR Events Boss and a rider that "used" to race ...Some folks won’t even know he rides a bike still... Well he does, and he can still go like a Machine... What Steve Achieved last weekend at the famous DAWN TILL DUSK event was nothing short of spectacular and we are all very proud of him here at WOR Events ....

Riding for his mate, Injured TT rider ..Steve Mercer ...raising money for the recovery funds that will lay ahead for the Mercer family .. Steve not only finished the race ..won his class and completed his goal...He sensationally won the event in its entirety... He can hold claim to winning this event in the 12hr group and the 24hr group. He rode last weekend’s 24hr slog in the rain and bad weather like a gladiator ...

Here is his thankyou to everyone that helped ...

"Ok ....so Thank you...Where to start...So so many people made it easier and possible for me to achieve what I did last weekend by winning the D2D 24hr Marathon Enduro Overall... It's still not sunk in... although man I'm aching last couple days. All so worthwhile though. The main objective was to just finish. Ride each hour of the 24 for my injured mate Steve Mercer... whatever the pace ... I've not raced since a Colstey Hare and hounds back in January 2017... although a lot of trail riding and riding a Dirtbike goes on in my life and I've stayed bike fit and giving up Booze and fags 8 months ago has deffo helped in a big way with this result. The win was a massive bonus.

In No Order cause they were all epic... Best go with the Wife first ...Geraldine Ireland ..You where / are wonder woman and I can’t give enough praise for your dedication to me and this cause.. 24hrs didn't Phase you!! Right hand man... Alwyn Jones. Above and way beyond the call of duty to be a massive part of the internal Job from Day one...simply awesome help mate.. The other Rocks that I leaned on for the 24hrs where...Gaz Markl simply inspirational, military precision and planning on food/ energy/ pits etc and a cool and calming presence that made the job achievable ..unwavering dude ... Vic Weaver ..Unreal support and Help, So committed and even stayed sober for 48hrs !!! Vic WOR needs You always!!! Sean Attard ..Always positive and totally committed , running here there and everywhere ....and lots of behind scenes help with our kids prior to event ...Proper... Dafydd Emyr ..mate you where brilliant help...committed , never faltered, supportive and I felt your emotion and drive for me ... Gemma Evans there for the entire 24hrs to support the team as she does with all things WOR ...A true friend and helper ... Richard Thorogood ..what a man ..the filmmaker...the comedian...he can make you laugh and cry this guy ..I love him..Just having him there with all his filming gadgets makes you feel very special and he managed to stay up right through without eating all the crisps!!! The Skillin Family ..Kelly Skillin and Darren Skillin ...Constant support and encouragement right throughout from them and Daz rode simply brilliant himself and if it were not for him chaperoning me around for the last 2 laps I'm not sure I could have got there lol... Rhodri and Sarah Jones standing out there in all weathers on the course keeping me lit!! Dillon Emyr for 100% support and help...Jason Childs out there cheering... John Francom for coming over from Wirral to cheer in the dark... All the folks that kept on facebook all night to Geraldine Ireland with support including one of my best mates James Shaw...

Those not at the race that need a big thank you are Gareth Lloyd and the team at CF Racing for all my bikes and equipment ...Simply the best ...They just support me and WOR EVENTS in all I do and all I can do is keep recommending them for their fantastic family run Husqvarna Motorcycles Dealership in North Wales, The 2 x FE250 bikes I had here where phenomenal and never missed a beat ...

@Kriega Dom Longman for the Hydration packs and massive donation to the fund...

David Knight for the loan of the best lights at the event ..I wore Davids own helmet at night with the lights already attached ...I kept thinking.,"shit ...I've got the best rider in the Worlds lid on here ...best get a move on!!" ...And the night shift won me the race...no lying..i managed to ride 12 hours at a 3hr hare and hounds pace ...

@Putoline for all my oils and lubes Michelin Motorcycle for my superb Enduro Competition tyres ...

The Dawn to Dusk Racing Ltd team for putting on a great event and making it happen .... The main folk that need a thank you though are the hundreds of folk that donated to the fund and raised over £7k for Steve's recovery pot.. I am so grateful and know Mr and Mrs Mercer are too....

Richard Thorogood's film will be out soon and it should be amazing...The whole thing was a roller coaster of tears and emotion and agony and ecstasy ... if I've missed anyone I'm so sorry but I need to go and put cream on my baboons arse ..office chair is killing me xxx One last push for any last minute donations and we put it to bed then..

We had a slogan at the Tough One .."Are you Tough Enough?" Well I'm glad to say Steve Mercer is and I've proved I am!!!!...Thanks again...Big Love ..Steve Ireland (done me mum proud!!) Happy 80th On Thurdsay Doreen Ireland xxxx "
